Erik ten Hag to take Antony to Manchester United: Van Gaal gives a warning.

The Red Devils' leadership has been searching for a long-term replacement for interim manager Ralf Rangnick, and Ten Hag was interviewed last week, with the Dutch coach now the frontrunner to take over at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag is said to have enquired about United's ambition and transfer budget during the meeting, and he appears to have already identified the first player he decided to sign.

Hag seemed desperate to bring Brazil international Anthony to Manchester, after the 22-year-old made a great impression at Ajax under his coaching.

Scoring 10 goals and 8 assists in 30 appearances in the Eredivisie and Champions League this season, Antony have won a lot of fans, and he's been connected with clubs like Barcelona in the past. He's also earned eight cups for Brazil.

However, Van Gaal, who led United to the FA Cup in 2016 after two seasons in charge, thinks his Ten Hag faces a tough choice about coming to Manchester.

"Erik ten Hag is a great coach and that is always good for Manchester United. But Manchester United are a commercial club, so it's a difficult choice for a coach. He'd better go to a football club." Said Van Gaal, The Netherlands boss. "I'm not going to advise him, he'll call me himself. But he must choose a football club and not a commercial club." He added.
